At the May Hardware SIG Meeting we had an informative presentation by Sherry Karamdashti and Lila Ibrahim of Intel. They came to clear up some of the confusion about Intel's motherboards and their number scheme. It was almost record attendance again as those standing in the back found out.
This month on the 18th of June we have a double hitter. We have the man that holds the record for bringing in people Mr. Mike Bruzzone of AMD coming back as promissed to discuss AMD's Pentium Pin Compatable Chips. Yes there will be one or two door prizes since Mike likes to talk to a packed house. The other half of the Presentation will be given by Kenneth Jones of Tandberg Data. Tandberg Data is one of the leaders in 1 gig and larger Tape Backup Devices. They will be discussing internal and external drive in the one to five gig range.
While glancing through some of the other user group news letters I noticed some of them had some really great pricing on magazines. I have contacted them and found the source. Al Wromke the SVCS review coordinator tells me he is working on a group purchase deal with Symantec. This is also a substantial savings over regular subscription rates. He hopes to have the forms available at the general meeting this month, if not you can pick them up at the Hardware SIG meeting or anytime thereafter at DownHome Computers.
